The LTTE rump of the Tamil Diaspora is supposed to be getting ready to commemorate the “So called Black July 1983” during the coming weekend (21 and 22nd July) in all big cities in Canada, UK, USA, Switzerland, Norway, EU Countries and Australia in their continuation of humiliating Sri Lanka and specially the Sinhalese community. Of course, they may even bring the message of War Crimes against Sri Lanka though it is irrelevant with 1983 riots.
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) objective for a separate homeland (Tamil Eelam) for all Tamils threatens the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India and amounts to cession from the Indian Union and thus falls the ambit of unlawful activities said the Home Ministry of India explaining the reason for the further ban of the organization in India.
The Hindu quoted a former LTTE girl fighter Niromi de Soyaza who recently published a book as telling the LTTE tortured and killed alleged spies and “traitors” and also looted Tamil shops and homes while fighting the Indian peacekeepers in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka’s high commissioner to Australia says turning boats back to his country will deter asylum seekers from making the journey to Australia.
Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe says asylum seekers will be forced to find other ways of getting to Australia if their boats are prevented from leaving Sri Lankan waters.
“Turning the boats around will deter people,” he told ABC Radio on Monday.
