Mr. Ban Ki-Moon
Secretary-General, United Nations
New York, NY, US

 Dear Ban Ki-Moon:

Re:   United Nations (UN) has failed in its mandate to protect civilians in the last months of Sri Lanka’s battle against LTTE terrorists – The “ Charles Petrie Report” is leaked to the Media.

This reminds me of Harry Belafonte’s song, Ban Ki-Moon

‘There are holes in UNs buckets, dear Ban Ki, dear Ban Ki, there are holes in UN buckets as Sri Lanka Reports get leaked;

Then plug them with Lanka’s ‘JUST BUG-OFF GLUE’  dear Ban Ki, dear Ban Ki, then plug them with Lanka’s ‘JUST BUG-OFF GLUE’ dear Ban Ki, as this very well  might help!’

Come again Ban Ki-Moon, This is an amazing revelation.  Has the UN just woken up from its 29- year slumber?  This is a war that had been going on with venom since 1983 and there had been killings since then by the Tamil Tiger terrorists, and all deaths were children of your same God, and you talk of the last five months of 2009 prior to the Tamil Tigers being wiped out militarily on May 19, 2009.  What’s the UN’s problem, Ban Ki-Moon?   What is your game plan on Sri Lanka? Why this unsettling mischief and nastiness about Sri Lanka?  Why, Ban Ki-Moon?  Hold thy peace among the Sinhalese and spit it out, Ban Ki-Moon, failing don’t complain if they spit back at you and I will too.

“If someone is an enemy combatant, it does not matter of he is unarmed or not, because lethal force is permitted against enemy fighters and commanders in the course of an ongoing armed conflict and sometimes in case of self-defense”.  “Do you know who said that, Ban Ki-Moon?….It was US Attorney General Eric Holdier.”  In a world where we are fighting for equality and survival, and trying to get rid of terrorism, then what is good for the mighty US surely is good for little Sri Lanka.  That is how the cookie crumbles, Ban Ki-Moon!  No ifs and buts.

Ban Ki- stop Mooning the Sinhalese and the Muslims and keep shedding your crocodile tears for the Tamils who happened to have got killed during the final stages of the war.  And so did 3,900 Sinhalese soldiers get killed trying to liberate the 295,873 Tamils from the clutches of their own Tamil Tiger terrorists who used them as a human shield herding them like unwashed cattle from the west coast to the east coast for 30 months. That is the reality check for you as well as your Senior UN official Charles Petrie. I am a Sinhalese and your tears for the Tamils do not cut mustard with me for ignoring my Sinhalese people.

The bottom line Ban Ki-Moon is the UN couldn’t care two straws of the South Korean Barnyardgrass about the Sinhalese and Muslims during that 27 year war. Let me pick up one  or two murderous incidents from each year from scores of hundreds of them since 1983 to tell you how the UN failed to protect the innocent Sinhalese and Muslims from the AK47 bullets, swinging machetes, Claymore mines, and suicide bomber detonating claws of the Tamil Tiger terrorists, the most ruthless in the world, the UN told us.

1983:  July 23.  The Tamil Tigers ambushed Sri Lanka Army Patrol, ‘Four Four Bravo ‘, at Thirunelveli, Jaffna killing 13 soldiers. This was the reason for the Black July rampage in Colombo when the bodies were brought for burial. And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They started the blame game, pointing the finger at the Sri Lankan Government but did sweet buggerall to find peace in that island nation which had been haemorraghed by the Tamil Tigers since 1972.  Shame!

1984:  November 30. The Tamil Tiger terrorists attacked civilian settlements at Dollar and Kent Farms killing 62 unarmed civilians including men, pregnant women and children.  What did the UN do Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall and failed to protect these innocent Sinhalese civilians and is now concerned about the last five months of the war because mostly Tamils got killed. Shame!

1985:  May 14. The Tamil Tiger terrorists shot and killed 120 meditating Sinhalese Buddhist devotees, including children and wounded 85 others in the Buddhist sacred city of Anuradhapura.  What did the UN do Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall and failed to protect these innocent unarmed Sinhalese civilians, but it now shows its concern about the last five months of the war because mostly Tamils had got killed. Shame!

1986: May 7.  Tamil Tiger terrorists detonated a time bomb at the Central Telegraphic Office in Colombo killing 14 civilians and wounding 39 others.  What did the UN do Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall and failed to protect these innocent unarmed mainly Sinhalese civilians, but it now shows its concern about the last five months of the war because mostly Tamils got killed. Shame!

1987:  June 2. Tamil Tiger terrorists massacred and brutally mutilated 33 novice Buddhist monks and their mentor Chief Priest Venerable Hegoda Indrasara at Aranthalawa in Amparai. And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?   It did sweet buggerall and failed to protect these innocent Sinhalese novice Buddhist monks, but now shows its concern about the last five months of the war because mostly Tamils got killed. Shame!

1988:  October 9.  The Tamil Tigers shot dead 44 Sinhalese villagers at Mahakongaskada, Medawachchiya,  and set fire to 11 houses occupied by Sinhalese villagers.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall and failed to protect these innocent Sinhalese villagers, but now shows its concern about the last five months of the war because mostly Tamils got killed. Shame!

1989:  July 13.  TULF and former-Opposition  leader A. Amirthalingam and former Jaffna MP V. Yogheswaran were shot dead in Colombo by three Tamil Tigers.  The former MP for Nallur, M. Sivasithamparam too was seriously wounded in this attack.  They were shot at Amirthalingam’s home on Buller’s Road in Colombo.  The Tamil Tiger assassinating octopus arms extended miles away from Jaffna to reach who ever does not toe their separatist line.  And what did the UN do, to stop this killing mania of politicians, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall, and now they have decided to shed tears for the Tamils who got killed during the last five months of the war.  Shame!  And mind you Amirthalingam, Yogeswaran and Sivasithamparam were all Tamils from the North who preferred to live in safety in the South  among the majority Sinhalese, rather than in their de facto separate Tamil state, Eelam.  Ban Ki-Moon, go figure that one out.

1990:  August 3.  The Tamil Tigers opened fire at Muslims who were in prayer in the Jumma and Hussainia Mosques in Kathankudy, Batticaloa, killing 103 and wounding 70 men and male youth.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon? Your lot did sweet buggerall and failed to protect the innocent Muslims in the east of the island, but now shows its concern about the past five months of the war because mostly Tamils got killed. Shame!

1990: June 11 & 12.  When Tamil Tigers attacked 17 police stations in eastern Batticaloa District and took over 700 policemen who surrendered at the request of President Pemadasa who was given the assurance by the Tamil Tiger leader Anton Balasingham that they would be sent south without being harmed.  Not so Ban Ki-Moon.  These in-human brutes had the 700 policemen blindfolded and brought in relays to a patch in the jungle.  After feeding a cup of water to each one, and when kneeling with their hands tied at their backs were shot through their skulls, everyone of them except for one, who lived to tell the story. And what did the UN do about it, Ban Ki-Moon?  Your outfit did sweet buggerall, and now  shedding tears for the Tamils who died during the last five months of this war. Shame!

1990: October, 29.  The Tamil Tigers ethnically cleansed the Muslims from the Northern and Eastern  districts of Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya and Manner where they had been living for generations. That day they ordered 100,000 of  these Muslims at gunpoint to leave their homes within 24 hours, and robbing them of all their belongings, making Idi Amin of Uganda look like an angel as at least he had a heart to give the Ugandan-Indians three months to get out of Uganda.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall and failed the Muslims in the North and East of the island who had lived there for generations, but now shows its concern about the last five months of the war because mostly Tamils got killed during that period. Shame!

1991:   June 27. When a Private Bus 50-9765 was proceeding towards Monaragala from Pottuvil loaded with passengers, the Tamil Tigers exploded two claymore mines and opened fire at the passengers killing 16 innocent civilians and wounding another 8.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall, and now they are shedding tears for the death of the Tamils who got killed during the final five months of the war.  Shame!

1992:  October 15.   The Tamil Tigers attacked Muslim villages at Palliyagodella, Ahamadpura, Agbopura and Pamnurana in Polonnaruwa, and shot and hacked to death 172 civilians, 12 policemen, 8 soldiers and injuring 83 others.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall and did not shed one tear as they are doing now for the Tamils who got killed during the final five months of the war.  Shame!

1993:  May 1.  Sri Lanka’s President Ranasinghe Premadasa was assassinated by a Tamil Tiger suicide bomber and with him 15 innocent civilians got killed and 33 were injured.  This is a man who was holding negotiations with the Tamil Tiger leaders in 5-star hotels in Colombo to find a solution to stop the killings and haemorrhaging of his island nation.  So, what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall to find peace in the nation and let the killings go on, and now  have started to shed tears for the Tamils who got killed during the last five months of the war and ignoring the fact that 295,873 Tamils were liberated by the Government soldiers from the Tamil Tiger clutches by 19 May 2009.  That is how sick your outfit is. Shame!

1994:  March 16.  When approximately 10 boats that had gone fishing close to Kudiramalai Point near Puttalam in the west coast of the island, they were attacked by the sea wing (Sea Tigers) of the Tamil Tigers killing 17 Sinhalese fishermen and injuring 3 others.  So what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall to help to quell the Tamil Tiger killer-violence.  And now the UN has started to shed tears for the Tamils who got killed during the last five months of the war.  Shame!

1995:  October 20. High explosives and mortar attacks by the Tamil Tigers on the Kolonnawa, Colombo, Oil Storage Tank Farm triggered one of the biggest ever blazes seen in Colombo that got 47 storage tanks ablaze.  With subsequent shooting the Tamil Tigers killed 21 innocent workers and injured 35 others.  So what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon.  It did sweet buggerall to help to quell the Made in India Tamil Tiger killer brigade violence.  And now your UN outfit has started to shed tears for the Tamils who got killed during the last five months of the war. Shame!

1996: January 31.   An attack by a Tamil Tiger truck bomb brought down the Central Bank Building in the Fort, Colombo, killing 114 and maiming for life another 1338 innocent people.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall to bring peace to that nation by reining  in the Tamil Tiger terrorists, the most ruthless in the world you all told us, but seems extremely concerned about the mostly Tamils who got killed during the last five months of the war which also saw 295,873 Tamils liberated by the Sri Lankan Army soldiers  from the clutches of the Tamil Tigers who used them as a human shield for 30 months. Shame!

1996:  July 24.  The Tamil Tiger terrorists detonated multiple bombs ripping through several carriages of the Colombo-Aluthgama train in Dehiwela (suburb of the capital Colombo) killing 70 civilians and injuring over 500 other who were returning home after work.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet bugger-all to help to stop the Tamil Tiger terrorists going on a killer-rampage day in and day out.  And now your outfit is shedding tears not for the Sinhalese who were killed but for the Tamils who got killed during the last five months of the war.  This is the sick UN outfit that you are heading Ban Ki-Moon. Shame!

1997:  July 2.  This was the day when the Erakkandy Village Massacre happened in Trincomalee.  Over 100 Tamil Tigers in their usual orgy of violence entered this Muslim village with sharp weapons and clubs and clubbed and tortured children and infants to death, chopped women including pregnant mothers, and hacked men and women until they suffered a slow painful death. When this Tamil Tiger terrorist orgy was over, 34 Muslims had been butchered and tortured to death.   And what did the UN do for the Muslims in the East of Sri Lanka, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall.  And now your outfit is shedding tears not for the Muslims nor for the Sinhalese who have been massacred in a border village after village, but for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war.  Isn’t this sick, Ban Ki-Moon as these who were killed by the Tamil Tigers, Sinhalese, Muslims and Tamils were children of your same God?  Shame!

1998: January 25.   The Tamil Tigers drove in a high-explosives laden truck and attacked the Temple of the Buddha’s Tooth Relic in Kandy, the most revered shrine of the Buddhists killing 12 innocent devotees and injuring another 13.  And what did the UN do for these Sinhalese Buddhists, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall.  And now your outfit is shedding tears not for the Sinhalese Buddhists who have been targeted by the Tamil Tigers, but for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war.  Shame!

1999: September 18.  The massacre that happened in the small village of Gonagala located in the Amparai District, over 50 men, woman and children who were asleep were hacked to death in the middle of the night by the Tamil Tigers. This massacre gained notoriety because, unlike previous massacres, the Tamil Tigers who took part of this killing were women Tamil Tiger cadres.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon? It did sweet buggerall.  And now this outfit is shedding tears not for these poor Sinhalese farming villagers but for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war.  Shame!

2000:  January 5.  A woman Tamil Tiger suicide bomber blew herself up outside the office of the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka killing 13 civilians and three police officers.    And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall and didn’t think much of this incident either.  And now your outfit is shedding tears not for these Sinhalese people who died but for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war.  Shame!

2001:  July 24.    A 14-man suicide squad of the Tamil Tigers attacked the Bandaranaike International Airport damaging 2 Airbus320s, 2 Airbus330s and 1 Airbus340.   They also used rocket-propelled grenades, anti-tank weapons, and assault rifles to destroy three K-8 Karakorum Training aircraft, one Mil Mi-17 helicopter, one Mil Mi-24 helicopter, 2 Kafir fighter jets, and a MiG-27, five K-8s and killing 7 people and injuring 12 others.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  It did sweet buggerall.  And now the UN is crying foul and shedding tears for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war. Shame!

2002: February 22. The Ceasefire Accord (CFA) was signed.  The CFA meant that both parties wouldn’t shoot nor kill each other or innocent civilians.  There were Scandinavian Monitors keeping an eye on both parties that they will not violate the CFA.

2002:  June 27.  Four months after signing the CFA, two Muslim brothers Hyath Mohamad Januudeen (26) and Hyath Mohamad Janushdeen (20) who were attending a Tamil wedding in Pattahlai, in Valachchnai, where they had been invited to cook were abducted and killed by the Tamil Tigers. And what did the UN and the Scandinavian Peace Monitors do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall and are now shedding tears for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war. Shame!

2003: March 20.  Tamil Tigers were also sea pirates with their Sea Tiger expertise.   Attacking and exploding the Chinese Fishing Trawler Fu-Yuan killing 20 of its crew members was one of their several successful sea-escapades.  And what the UN do about it, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall and have now started to shed tears, not for these Chinese fishermen, but for Tamils who died during the last five months of the war in the war theater.  Yes, Ban Ki-Moon, UN did sweet buggerall!  Shame!

2004: June 7.   A woman Tamil Tiger suicide bomber killed herself and four police officers in an attack on a police station near Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister’s official residence in Colombo.  The blast which injured 11 more police officers took place aroune12:30 P.M.  This Tamil woman was being searched in the police station after being arrested and blew herself up.  Little wonder why the Human Rights NGOs like AI and Human Rights Watch did not slam the Sri Lankan Government for this arrest saying that they had violated the rights of this suicide bomber giving the Tamil Tigers a hand as they always do.  So what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon, other than complaining about the last five months of the war, because Tamils got killed in the war theatre?  They did sweet buggerall, not even to make a serious attempt to bring peace to that island nation and pronounce that  Sri Lanka has every right to defend its sovereignty from marauding, foreign country supported serial killers, the Tamil Tiger terrorists, the ruthless of them all.  Shame!

2005: August 12.  A Tamil Tiger sniper assassinated Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, who also happened to be a Tamil at is home in Colombo.  This assassination was one of almost 30 politicians who got shot, bombed and killed by the Tamil Tigers.  A majority of them were from their Tamil clan.  So what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  Your outfit did sweet buggerall other than send your condolences to his wife, but sure enough has started to shed buckets of tears for the Tamils who got killed in the last five months of the war. Shame!

2006: May 29.  The CFA was still on and yet the Tamil Tiger killings went on. The workers at an irrigation canal project at Omadiyamadu in Welikanda had stopped work as usual at 5 o’clock.  Suddenly around 15 uniformed Tigers armed with T-56 rifles had surrounded the place and shot the 12 labourers having tied their hands at the back and asking them to kneel down.    This massacre occurred a few hours after the EU banned the Tamil Tigers as a terrorist group. And what did the UN and the Scandinavian Peace Monitors  do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall and are now shedding tears for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war. Shame!

2006: June 15.  The CFA was still on and yet the Tamil Tigers went on with their spree of massacring the Sinhalese and Muslims.  They detonated a claymore mine in a bus in Kebitigollawa killing 64 civilians including children and Buddhist monks and injuring 39 others.   And what did the UN and the Scandinavian Peace Monitors do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall and now are shedding tears for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the separatist war.  Shame!

2006:  July 26.  The CFA was still on and the Tamil Tigers who had by now violated the CFA over 7000 times decided to violate it one more time. And finally, the invincible Tamil Tigers met their Waterloo.  On this day they decided to be cocky cushioned by 11 ship loads of sophisticated armoury that they sneaked in through the east coast since signing the CFA when they decided to cut off the water supply to 15,000 Sinhalese farmers by shutting the Mavil Aru anicut, which was feeding nearly 30,000 acres of cultivation land by poor farmers.  The blocking of this water resource also deprived drinking water to these 15,000 families.

And so began Eelam War 1V. The CFA was shattered and abrogated by the Sri Lankan Government on 2 January 2008.  From then on until 19 May 2009, the de facto  mythical Eelam’s village by village, town after town fell to the government soldiers  like ten pins in a bowling alley– Silawaturai 2 Sept.2007; Madhu Church complex 24 April 2008; The Mannar Rice Bowl  29 June 2008; Naddankdal Village 11 July 2008; Nachchikudha  21 August 2008; Gajabapura   23 October 2008;  Palavi 11 November 2008; Pooneryn 15 November 2008; Mankulam  17 November 2008; Nadunkerni  20 December 2008; Iranamadu  1 January 2009;  Paranthan 1 January 2009; Kilinochchi Town 2 January 2009, Elephant Pass  9 January 2009, Jaffna Peninsula 14 January 2009; Mullaitivu Town, 25 January 2009;  Puthukkudiyiruppu 5 April 2009; when finally the leaders of the Tamil Tigers including their leader Prabhakaran died under gun fire in the Nandikadal lagoon shores in the east coast of the island.  And what did the UN do, Ban Ki-Moon?  They did sweet buggerall other than trying to pressure the Sri Lankan Government have a Ceasefire so that they could whisk the Tamil Tiger leaders out of the island so that these terrorists could live another day to continue with what they did best – to KILL and MAIM innocent civilians wanting their separate, racist state, Tamil Eelam. And you sent your man Nabiar to Colombo on your instructions just to do that.  And now you lot are shedding tears for the Tamils who died during the last five months of the war.  Shame!

So ended the mythical Eelam hunters and their dream, and today all  21 million Sri Lankans, including the Tamils are waking up each morning to go outside their homes to smell the jasmine and araliya flowers.  Thanks to President Mahinda Rajapaksa, his government and his armed forces personnel.

Now the million dollar question to you Ban Ki-Moon is, when will the next UN’s unsubstantiated and erroneous internal Report on Sri Lanka leak out to the media with the sordid effort to castigate Sri Lanka for defeating the most ruthless terrorists who ever lived on earth, the Tamil Tigers.  It was they who perfected the suicide body pack, and assassinated two heads of state, Sri Lanka’s President Ranasinghe Premadasa, and the former leader of India Rajiv Gandhi among many other politicians.

And the next equally important question to you Ban Ki  is, when will you stop MOONing the Sinhalese and Muslims in Sri Lanka trying to please the nations who still want love-ins with the Tamil Tiger rump who seem to hate Sri Lanka?

And if there are holes in UN buckets which are prone to leak out the next UN’s internal Report on Sri Lanka, then here is the remedy:

“If there are holes in UN’s buckets, dear Ban Ki, dear Ban Ki, if there are holes in UN’s buckets as Sri Lanka Reports get leaked;

Then plug them with Lanka’s ‘JUST BUG-OFF GLUE” dear Ban Ki, dear Ban Ki, then plug them with Lanka’s ‘JUST BUG-OFF GLUE’ dear Ban Ki, as this might very well help.’

Sincerely,

Asoka Weerasinghe (Mr.)
