Army recovers five LTTE artillery guns in Mullaitivu

The army has recovered five artillery guns buried on the beach in Vellamullivaikkal, Mullaitivu.

Military Spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya stated four of the guns belonged to the 152mm variety while the other was a 130mm artillery gun. He added the military had also recovered an LTTE boat fitted with two powerful 120 horsepower engines. Brigadier Wanigasuriya said the military continued to recover military hardware hidden by the LTTE almost everyday, but that this was a highly significant find given the nature of the weapons recovered
