Tamil Tigers kill another Tamil leader and issue death warrant to 5 Tamil leaders

Mr K.Manikkadasan, Deputy Leader of People's Liberation of Tamil Ealam (PLOTE), a Tamil political party in Sri Lanka was assasinated by a LTTE Tamil Tiger suicide bomber on 2nd Sepember in a North Central city in Sri Lanka. His body guard, Illangar, too was killed in the explosion.

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), better known as the Tamil Tigers have also issued death warrants too another 5 Tamil Leaders. The threats come hard on the heels of their killing of one of the topmost Tamil Leaders in Sri Lanka. As a result, Amnesty International (AI) in its latest communique appeals to the Western Nations not to allow their countries to host Tamil Tiger offices and outfits. AI further appeals to all Tamils to immediately write to the acknowledged LTTE offices in their respective countries to stop killing Tamil Leaders immediately.

On 29 July 1999, a LTTE suicide bomber assassinated the famous academic and constitutional lawyer, Dr. Neelam Tiruchelvam in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The flood of messages of condemnation of the brutal act erupted instantaneously. From Bill and Hillary Clintons to Alexander Downer, from UK to India, the world was unanimous in condemning the senseless barbarism of the Tamil Tiger terrorists. Neelan was the 39 th Tamil leader to be killed by the LTTE, who ridiculously call themselves the "Liberators of the Tamils". The LTTE is an organisation banned by the USA, India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. USA State Department in its annual listing of international terrorist organisations repeatedly includes the Tamil Tigers as one of the 30 most dangerous international terrorist organisations in the world. The Canadian Federal Court has ruled that the LTTE is an international terrorist organization.

Only recently, the Tamil Tigers mercilessly gunned down another Tamil politician, Mrs. Sarojini Yogeswaram, 65-year-old widow, the elected Mayoress of the City of Jaffna where the population is 100% Tamil (after the Tigers’ ethnic cleansing exercises of the eighties). Sarojini’s Tamil political party, TULF, then nominated another Tamil, Mr Pon Sivapalan to succeed her. He too was gunned down in cold blood within a month! That’s the way of the "Liberators of Tamils"!

39 Dr Neelan Thiruchelvam Leader of TULF (29 July 1999)

Apart from the above Tamil leaders, LTTE killed many other leaders such as Rajiv Gandhi (former Prime Minister of India), Ranasinghe Premadasa (former President of Sri Lanka) and three senior Ministers, Ranjan Wijeratna, Lalith Athulathmudali and Gamini Dissanayake of the Democratically elected Sri Lankan Government.

LTTE’s killing spree started with the murder of the Tamil Mayor of Jaffna, Alfred Duraiappa, in 1975. They have since killed over 30,000 innocent Tamil, Muslim and Sinhala civilians deliberately. The prestigious Indian Journal "The Indian Express" (13 January 1997) in an investigative article stated that the Tamil Tigers have killed more Tamils than all others (Sri Lankan forces, Indian Peace Keeping Force, Tamil militant groups other than the Tigers) put together.

More than half of Tamil Tiger cadres are children some aged as low as 10 years. UN special representative, Olara Otunu who visited the war-torn island and Amnesty International have condemned the Tigers for forcible recruitment of children into war. The recruitment of children as soldiers is a violation of the UN Convention on the right of the children. Further, the new International Criminal Court Statute makes child recruitment a war crime.

We earnestly appeal to you to speak out and do whatever that is possible to condemn the perpetrators of these abominable crimes against humanity and stop fund raising activities in Australia by Tamil Tiger terrorist agents masquerading under different guises.
