A
Swiss civilian shot dead, another victim of the kill, kill
and kill policy of the Tamil Tiger Terrorists
The
members of the international community led by the facilitator are patting
themselves with satisfaction as major confrontations between the Sri
Lanka defence services and the LTTE have been averted. However, the LTTE's
record of killing of civilians, both political opponents and peace loving
citizens who refuse to carry out their orders, is a grim story of a helpless
section of the ordinary people. They are gridlocked by the LTTE,
the most ruthless terrorist out fit in the world. They are ignored by the
international community and the human rights organizations while the Sri Lanka
Monitoring Mission and the Government of Sri Lanka have been rendered
impotent.
The
European countries including Switzerland openly accommodate the LTTE cadres
and the LTTE’s many front organizations in their countries violating UN
Security Council resolution 1373 on funding of terrorism. These countries
provide shelter, hold conferences shamelessly with the LTTE members and knowingly
allow the LTTE to collect funds to procure arms to perpetuate the misery of
Sri Lankans.
Evidently,
the LTTE is not willing to limit that misery to Sri Lankans only. Their latest
victim is a Swiss national, Mr. Hans Ulrich Hurpos, and he has been killed for
not acceding to LTTE's demands to pay a ransom. Mr. Hurpos is the 181st
civilian to be killed since the Norwegian facilitated peace process came into
effect. The Swiss Government and the EU should realize that the chickens have
come to roost. It is the most appropriate time, even belatedly, to take stock
of the atrocities committed by the Tamil Tigers and the consequences of these
dastardly acts on the civilians, including the Tamils who oppose the LTTE
within or outside Sri Lanka.
The
LTTE's kill-kill program or the only policy familiar to its' chief Prabhakaran,
a criminal wanted by the Interpol , Indian and Sri Lankan courts, if not
effectively understood and destroyed by the West , many unarmed civilians will
be called upon to lay down their lives while 'the peace in Sri Lanka'
is toasted in the glittering cities of Europe. In addition to the LTTE chief
Prabhakaran, six other senior members of the LTTE including its
Intelligence Chief, Pottu Amman, are fugitives wanted by the INTERPOL.
We
ask again from the facilitator Norway and the EU who are acting as the
god-fathers of the LTTE, when will you’ll call a terrorist a terrorist, when
will you’ll strictly enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1373 in relation
to the LTTE and when will you’ll stop differentiating between terrorists who
attack you’ll and terrorists who conduct terrorism against lesser developed
countries like Sri Lanka?
