Sniffer Dogs Project

SNIFFER DOGS TO PREVENT CASUALTIES FROM TERRORIST BOMBS

Terrorist violence is often directed at members of the public and causes casualties to the civilian population.

Trained sniffer dogs capable of detecting explosives is one of the most effective ways to put fear into terrorists planning random attacks. SPUR was determined to introduce this technique to Sri Lanka’s defence forces and donated 10 pedigreed dogs to the Army and Special Task Force at a cost of approximately A$ 15,000

Well wishers in Victoria, Sinhala Cultural and Community Services Foundation, SPUR Qeensland , Art Lanka-Melbourne, Sri Lanka Society of South Australia joined the SPUR in making this project a success.
