THREE BUS BOMB ATTACKS ON CIVILIANS IN SRI LANKA – TAMIL TIGERS INDEPENDENCE DAY RESPONSE TO NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE MEDIATION OF THE NORWEGIAN AGENTS

Reliable sources from Sri Lanka report that at 18:00 Hrs Australian time on 4 February 2000, seven people are dead, another six critically wounded and more than hundred others are injured in three separate bus bomb attacks carried out on civilians by the Tamil Tiger terrorists on 3 February 2000.

The attacks had been planned to coincide with the day of Independence from the British, which is considered the most important in the national calendar. The British raj, in their time of reign, showered privileges to the Tamils and used them as an administrative tool to rule over the majority Singhalese. Even today, the terrorists have their Head quarters in London from where they co-ordinate their international terrorist activities with the Nelsonian blessings of the British government.

The attacks are also seen as an attempt to further weaken the government’s standing at planned "negotiations" virtually imposed upon Sri Lanka by Norwegian mediators who are known to favour the so called "Tamil cause" of the Tigers.

The first bomb exploded in a bus bound for Tamil dominated Batticaloa from Colombo; the bomb had been planned to explode at a government owned major refuelling station, but went off seconds in advance. Three passengers were seriously injured.

The second bomb exploded in a public bus plying between Colombo and Kurunegala near Regnold Estate Wanduragala, Kurunegala at around 5.19 pm on 3 February 2000 - Twenty one passengers were injured.

The third bomb exploded in a bus at Kadawatha at around 8.15 pm on 3 February 2000, about 20km from Colombo on the road to the central hill city of Kandy. An eyewitness said that human body parts were strewn all over the bus and in the vicinity. She added that the government would not divulge the true figure of casualties until the heat of the crime eases off, as usual.

These inhuman crimes against civilians come within a week after 15 people were killed and 73 wounded when a Tamil Tiger bomb exploded in a mail box at the main post office in the northern Sri Lanka town of Vavuniya. More victims are still succumbing to their injuries in hospitals in the south.

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), better known the world over as Tamil Tiger terrorists are banned in several countries including USA, India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. Only a few weeks ago, the Canadian Federal Court of Appeal rejected the appeal of Manickavasagam Suresh, a Tamil fundraiser for the Terrorist group and ordered his deportation to Sri Lanka. Tamil Tigers are listed as one of the 30 most dangerous international terrorist organisations in the world. Alexander Downer, a man of conscience, foreign minister of Australia, steadfastly refuses even to talk to any Tamil lobby group that do not condemn Tamil Tiger terrorism in writing. Gareth Evans, another intellectual, condemned the Tamil Tigers in no uncertain terms when he was the foreign minister in the former ALP Government.

Not withstanding all the crystal clear proof, Tamil Tiger terrorists still enjoy kid glove treatment from certain quarters of Australian media and politicians. Some media personnel who use the word "terrorists" quite freely with regard to outfits such as IRA and Hisbullah show inexplicable reluctance to use it on the Tamil Tigers. May be, even the most brutal atrocities committed on Sri Lankan civilians could be justified in the mindset of these people who look for continuation of conflicts in third world countries, providing fodder for their "journalism" based on conflicts and suffering, and thereby their "professional survival". Or, it may be a kind of "Cash for favour". On the other hand, some selfish politicians have foolishly become pawns of Tamil Tiger lobby groups in their electorates and tacitly support terrorism in Sri Lanka, discouraging any attempts to take steps against Tamil Tiger terrorist front organisations hyperactive in Australia. John Murphy, MP for Lowe, is a typical case in point.

TAMIL TIGER TERRORISTS ARE KNOWN TO SELL THEIR EXPERTISE IN ORCHESTRATED VIOLENCE AND HIGH EXPLOSIVES TO OTHER BUDDING TERRORIST ORGANISATION’S. AUSTRALIA, IF IT SO WISHES, CAN LEARN A LESSON FROM COUNTRIES SUCH AS CANADA, WHICH HAD TO FORM A SPECIAL "TAMIL TASK FORCE" TO CURB IMMENSE VIOLENCE ON THEIR SOIL. AFTER ALL, 2000 OLYMPICS IS AROUND THE CORNER AND THERE MAY BE INTERESTED PARTIES TO "TEACH AUSTRALIA A LESSON" IN INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM. IT IS HIGH TIME WE TAKE HEED AND TAKE STEPS TO ERADICATE LTTE ACTIVISM IN ALL ITS HIDDEN FORMS IN AUSTRALIA.
