Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Question :
FAQ - 009
Who are "Sinhalas" and "Tamils"
Answers :

Sinhalas are the indigenous nation of Sri Lanka, with a population of 18 million. Tamils are immigrants from their motherland, Tamil Nadu, home of 62 million Tamils. There are less than 2 million Tamils in Sri Lanka. While a small number of Tamils are remnants of previous south Indian invasions, the majority were imported by the British colonial regime for their divide and rule policy and as labour for their plantations, but were not taken away by the British on Independence.
